Job Description

  • Mekdim Ethiopia National Association (MENA) is an indigenous National Non-governmental, Non-political and not for profit humanitarian organization working in the area of HIV/AIDS prevention, care treatment and support services.

    Major Duties / Job summary

    BCC Activities

  • Lead and Coordinate BCC activities demand creation and behaviour change among target beneficiaries of the project FSW, High risk men, AGYW, truckers\

  • Participate in the development of BCC approaches and strategies for reach among target beneficiaries

  • Lead the cascade of BCC Trainings to peer educators and beneficiaries

  • Participate in content development of BCC materials, reprint and timely re distribution of BCC materials

  • Closely and regular monitoring BCC activities through supervision as per the standard based on the SOPs

  • Coordinate the overall BCC activities annual work plan development implementation and periodic reporting (Planning and Reporting)

  • Focal person for BCC activities and represent organization n in close collaboration with all stakeholders and target groups

    Economic Strengthening Activities

  • Lead and Oversee economic strengthening activities and follow-up ES strategy implementation (technical implementation & Impact)

  • Implement project performance in achieving ES performance through the establishment of saving groups

  • Follow-up and support saving groups to support comprehensive ES training
    cascade

  • Support the legalization of function Saving groups and facilitate financial support for the established Self-Help Group

  • Coordinate the overall ES activities annual work plan implementation and periodic reporting (Planning and Reporting)

  • Facilitate overall documentation and secure matching find as available

  • Focal person for ES activities and represent organization n in close collaboration with all stakeholders and target groups

    Job Requirements

    Qualifications and Required Experience

  • BSc/MA in Health Communication/ Health related field, Social science/

  • 6/4 years of experience in project management relevant work experience in community-based projects

  • Relevant experience in leading Economic
  • Strengthening activities

  • SBCC training is mandatory

  • Facilitating and cascading trainings

  • Computer application skill

  • Communications skills

  • Fluency in English and local languages

  • Knowledge of combination prevention and other trainings related to HIV, TB and nutrition will be a plus

  • Knowledge of Self-Help Group Establishment and Micro Finance activities will be advantageous

    Additional Skill Needed to Succeeded

  • Fluency in spoken and written English.

  • Strong working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other applications,

  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills – both verbal and written which will help to deliver massages as needed
