Medair ERT NFI Manager Vacancies in South Sudan
Member of Medair’s Emergency Response Team, the NFI (Non-Food Items Manager) Manager focus mainly on assisting displaced people in need of NFI’s and emergency shelter.
Manage ERT NFI and emergency shelter assessments, distributions and related processes; while contributing to the overall quality of Medair NFI and emergency shelter programming in South Sudan.
TechnicalIdentify the NFI needs for affected populations through assessments.
Lead and facilitate appropriate verification and registration processes for affected populations.
Lead and facilitate appropriate distributions to meet identified needs for affected populations.
Coordinate with NFI partners in field locations.
Input into the evolution of Medair and cluster standards for assessment, verification and distribution.
Advise on the suitability of NFI and emergency shelter items used.
External Representation
Represent Medair to local and state levels authorities and to partner agencies in field sites.
Staff Management
Act as team leader on a site when requested – with authority over Medair staff in the field sites.
Act as team leader for inter-agency teams on site when requested.
Quality Management
Help in the management of finances, logistics and in the coordination with local leaders.
Ensure assessments, registration and distribution processes are done in line with cluster standards.
Logistics and security
Responsible for logistics arrangements (staff /
cargo movements) related to specific field sites.

Qualifications
Undergraduate degree and experience preferably in relevant field.
Construction, engineering, or architecture background.
Strong working knowledge of English (spoken and written).
Experience / Competencies
Experience working with staff from different cultures.
Previous emergency response, NFI or shelter experience.
Good communicator, able to work well with people from different tribes and cultures.
Flexible and willing to work in often difficult and undeveloped environments, including camping, travel and working in many different sites over the course of the contract.
Able to thrive in isolated settings with sometimes limited social interaction.
Willingness to remain in field for up to 8 weeks at a time.
Camping / outdoors experience.
