Medair international ERT NFI Manager Jobs in South Sudan
Key Activity AreasTechnicalIdentify the NFI/ES needs for affected populations through assessments.
Lead and facilitate appropriate verification and registration processes for affected populations.
Lead and facilitate appropriate distributions to meet identified NFI and emergency shelter needs for affected populations, predominantly the population living within and nearby Malakal POC.
Develop and update the Medair and cluster standards for assessment, verification and distribution.
External Representation
Represent the NFI cluster at the Malakal Upper Nile State Inter Cluster Working Group (ICWG).
Hold NFI/ES cluster meetings at Malakal level.
Represent Medair as the partner responsible for NFI within Malakal POC at Camp Management meetings.
Staff Management
Responsible to act as team leader in Malakal – with authority over the Medair team based there.
Act as team leader for inter-agency teams when requested and assist in the hiring casual labour.
Quality Management
Ensure assessment, verification, registration and distribution processes are carried out in line with cluster standards.
Ensure that all reporting and administration is done on time and according to the relevant guidelines and is reported accurately.
Logistics & Security
Responsible for logistics arrangements (staff/cargo movements) related to specific field sites.
Responsible for ensuring that the living and working environment in Malakal is maintained, including ordering food, reporting any damages with the office and ensuring the Medair vehicle is maintained.
Promptly share security information with your team and the ERT NFI/ES Project Manager and/or the team leader.
Finance Management
Develop the annual budget for the ERT NFI/ES project and manage the daily expenses.

This job description covers the main tasks that are anticipated. Other tasks may be assigned as necessary.
Qualifications
Undergraduate degree and experience preferably in Construction, engineering, or architecture.
Strong working knowledge of English (spoken and written).
Experience working with staff from different cultures, internationally, preferably in emergency context.
Flexible and willing to work in often difficult and undeveloped environments, including camping, travel and working in different sites over the course of the contract.
Able to thrive in isolated settings with limited interaction with other international Medair staff.
Good communicator, able to work well with people from different cultural backgrounds.
Willingness to remain in field for up to 8 weeks at a time.
This is a field-based position and working and living conditions may be very different to that previously experienced. As you are part of the Emergency team your location may vary. Some locations may be at times insecure – but Medair follows strict security guidelines to keep staff safe.
However, the applicant must be willing to work at times in high-risk areas due to an emergency, including areas with regular tribal and internal conflicts.
