The security situation in Tigray remains volatile and unpredictable, with reports of ongoing clashes in many parts of the region.

Violence against civilians, including killings, abductions, force returns of refugees and internally displaced people, and sexual and gender-based violence continue to be reported across Tigray.

Task and Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the field coordinator and in collaboration with the administrative coordinator in Addis Ababa, you support the MdM emergency intervention in Tigray region.

Your main responsibilities are:

• Oversee recruitment of the administrative team and implement the MdM administrative and finance policies and procedures

• Be responsible for preparing financial statements, maintaining cash controls, preparing the payroll and personnel administration and managing office operations

• Develop and monitor field office budgets in close collaboration with all base departments and with the administrative coordinator based in Addis Ababa

• Implement the procedures for recruitment process, keep up to date staff files and ensure the establishment of staff rules & regulations

• Train and supervise the administration team

• Support the office on audit, financial risk management and fraud prevention issues

Skills and Responsibilities

Degree in accounting,

business administration, finance or any other related field

Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a similar position in high risk humanitarian contexts

Full or part professional qualifications in finance and accounting

Knowledge of Saga software

Knowledge of donors regulations and reporting requirements

Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office package (including MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint), knowledge of ERP systems is desirable

Ability to work in countries under conflict and in tense situations

Good writing and communication skills

Languages: English is mandatory, French is an asset.
