Médecins Sans Frontières Technical Project Coordinator Jobs in South Sudan
Key Responsibilities The Project Coordinator is responsible for the operational management, monitoring and reporting of the project.
The project coordinator will set up clear governance within all the different actors involved (internal and external) from the outset as well as good communication practices.
He/she will explore the value chain for the management of non-medical hazardous waste and, together with the project team, identify a responsible person for each step.
The Project Coordinator will ensure collaboration and communication with the project team (focal point for each MSF entity in South Sudan) as well as with the Steering Committee and the Advisory Committee.
In the first phase, the project coordinator will oversee the inventory and separation of waste covered by the project, for each MSF site, identify and assess exporters and recycling opportunities in the region.
This will update the budget for Phase 2 (Transport, Export, Temporary Storage) and move towards project implementation.
During Phase 1, the project coordination will identify the relevant authorities involved in the export of waste, define the process to be followed and initiate discussions with exporters.
The second phase consists of the implementation of the project. During this phase, the project coordinator will be joined by a Watsan manager to ensure proper transport and storage of project waste to Juba, work on volume reduction (including R&D testing and pilots) and monitor the export process.
The third phase focuses on capitalization. The project coordinator will assess all the elements necessary to routinely treat hazardous waste from MSF's activities in South Sudan and will define, together with the project team, the Waste Management Plan for the country.
He/she will finalize the feedback report and adapt the SOPs to facilitate replication in other missions.
Profile sought:
Formation:
Bac +3 level diploma in business administration, project management or a similar field (Master's degree preferred).
Certification in project management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2,
Agile) is highly desired.
Experiment:
Minimum 3 years of experience in project management, including at least 2 years of working on innovation or governance projects.
Demonstrated experience in stakeholder management, governance and cross-functional team collaboration.
Field experience with MSF is a prerequisite, experience as a coordinator is an asset, experience in several CBOs would be valuable.
Experience in managing complex projects in resource-limited countries.
Experience in managing institutional funds and reporting.
