Job DescriptionYou will be based in (or will need to relocate to) Addis Ababa, Ethiopia and will be part of SAPHE.
Your role is designed for a period of six months from January-June 2021 and will work closely with the team leader, and other relevant project members in supporting the Government in strengthening the health system across Ethiopia
SAPHE provides Technical Assistance (TA) to the Government of Ethiopia, specifically the Federal Ministry of Health (FMoH) and its agencies.
Travel outside of Addis Ababa may be required during the course of services. This is a full time, fixed term position.
What You Will Do
You will provide managerial and technical assistance across project workstreams, in close cooperation with the project team and Government agencies.
In this role you will the overall operational responsibility for the project, and will report directly to the Project Director and Team Leader.
You will mainly works with a team of Implementation Leads and Senior Advisors to ensure they are progressing in their work according to their workplans, and guides them as needed to perform their duties.
You will perform activities needed to ensure the
project is progressing in accordance with the overall implementation plan and that its objectives are achieved.
These activities may include preparing progress reports and any work required to achieving the project KPIs.
You will also support the working team to ensure sustainability is embedded in all aspects of the project work.
Job Requirements
Qualifications
Masters’ level degree in health, health economics or related field
Experience working in the health sector, with focus on providing assistance to Government in delivering major health reforms; familiarity with the Ethiopian health sector an asset
Experience in health systems and health systems reform, preferably in Sub-Saharan Africa
Previous experience in a top tier strategy consulting would be an asset
Excellent managerial abilities with ability to manage complex client and team environments
Proven experience in planning, developing, managing and delivering projects and developing project deliverables (e.g., reports, analyses, presentations)
Proven experience in delivering impact on large scale public and private sector programmes
Experience working on donor funded international development programs (DFID, WB, USAID) would be an advantage
Fluent English, knowledge of Amharic would be an asset
