Mater Hospital Senior Registrar - Anesthesiology & Critical Care Jobs in Kenya



Responsibilities

  • Provide pre and post anaesthetic assessment and care of patients in the hospital

  • Work with surgeons to administer anesthetics in a manner that is safe for the procedure being done

  • Provide support on management of patients admitted to the ICU in conjunction with Consultants, Registrars, ICU Co-coordinator and other support staff

  • Address promptly any concerns raised by patients or their kin in regard to care or treatment given in consultation with the Director Medical Services and other professionals

  • Maintain records and document well all procedures undertaken

  • Guide, supervise and provide continuous education to junior medical staff and students

  • Keep abreast with trends, development and utilization of technology in the field of anesthesia and intensive care medicine on an ongoing basis

  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives within the department and provide reports as required

    Required Qualifications for the Position

  • MMED in Anesthesia and Critical care

  • Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MB ChB)

  • Minimum 3 years as a Senior Medical Officer

  • At least 1 year in a busy theatre

  • Ability to train & develop staff

  • Registered with KMPDC with a valid practicing license
