Marie Stopes Community Liaison Manager Jobs in Kenya
Marie Stopes Kenya is an NGO registered in Kenya. We are affiliated to Marie Stopes International.
Together we deliver safe abortion, quality sexual and reproductive health care and family planning to millions of the world's poorest and most vulnerable women.
We want to make sure that women have a choice when it comes to having children and that death by unsafe abortion is reduced.
This role has three key responsibilities:
Development of CE strategy together with channel teams that realizes wide ranging engagement with communities who will use our services
Oversight of the delivery of strategy through support and development of channel
teams
Liaison with organisations and development of partnerships
A strategy and work plan
that results in increased effective partnerships New groups demanding
our services (CYP/Exit
surveys) Community Engagement Strategy
Activities include:
Development of a robust network of Community Health Workers (CHWs),
Youth Peer Educators (YPEs) and Referral Agents (RAs) to generate effective referrals for MSK’s core services across all channels towards meeting MSK’s service delivery targets.
Support the channel leads in county entry/engagement to ensure an enabling community environment for demand generation for MSK services.
Close liaison with channel teams to collect and analyse on an ongoing basis the
Opportunities/Threats for increased engagement with the communities in which MSK works to increase impact.
Oversight of training for key groups – Community Health Workers (CHW) and Youth Peer Educators (YPE)
Engagement and liaison with community organisations and associations targeting youth and low-income persons.

representation to potential partners
Development of a substantial list of potential partners
Develop partnership agreements with key groups for project work
Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in Sociology, Pubic Health, or other related discipline
Proven experience in effective community engagement and partnership development
Skills and Experience:
Strategic thinker able to see the opportunities and threats to achieve relevant contact with new potential clients in
our communities
Creativity in stimulating ideas and finding potential links between community activities and MSK’s work
Comfortable and confident in liaising with key government departments and local authorities that serve in particular
youth and low-income persons.
Experienced in identifying and negotiating workable strategic partnerships
Excellent communicator within MSK teams and with community groups to develop ideas and formal agreements
Proven experience in developing strategic sets of activities
