Our Client, a Leading and the most innovative paint company in East Africa providing tailor made solutions to the construction and retail segments of the market with innovative products, services and world class after-sales support is urgently seeking to hire a versatile, enthusiastic and well organized Maintenance Engineer.
The successful candidate will keep all machines and equipment in proper working condition and improving their efficiency and other matters by performing the following duties;
Responsibilities
Accountable for Mechanical reliability of plant with ability to measure plant reliability and report improving trends throughout the year
Provide Engineering support, including attendance at relevant operational meetings and cross-sectional morning meetings, as well as own sectional meetings
Control of maintenance spending not to exceed budget
Ensure control of routine maintenance activities for both plant, utilities and process area
Generate PM plans, executions and reports
Start up and shut down PM plans with clear responsibilities and accountability.
Stay up to date on maintenance techniques and innovations
Ensure usage of work permits as needed
Responsible for determining project timelines
Responsible for maintenance records, data including machine manuals and catalogues
Responsible for the tools and instruments
Implementation of Kaizen Principles & 5s
Implementation of Code of Conduct within section and subordinates.
Building Ownership Culture with in section – My place or My machine concept
Ad-hoc assistance to other maintenance teams
Other duties and responsibilities
assigned as per business needs
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Higher Diploma in Mechanical Engineering – Plant option or any other related field from a recognized institution
Must have at least 5 years’ of experience as a Maintenance Engineer similar role
Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods
Ability to effectively communicate written and verbally to all levels of management
Results-oriented, detail-oriented, organized, able to multi-task, meet tight deadlines, and willing to work beyond normal scheduled work hours as necessary
Ability to work under pressure
Organizational skills and the ability to be proactive and take initiative
Working knowledge of tools, common appliances and devices
Manual dexterity and problem-solving skills
Thorough professional with a practical mind and attention to detail
