Machakos County Secretary Jobs
The Office of the Governor through the selection panel for recruitment of County Secretary wishes to invite competent and qualified persons to fill the following vacant position as per the Constitution of Kenya 2010 Chapter 11 and 13, the County Government Act 2012 Section 44.

Duties and Responsibilities The County Secretary shall:-
Be the head of the County Public Service; Be the Secretary to the County Executive Committee
Be responsible for arranging the business and keeping the minutes of the County Executive Committee subject to the directions of the Executive Committee:
Convey the decisions of the County Executive Committee to the appropriate persons or authorities and track their implementation Ensure efficient management of resources Coordinate County Government activities Interpret, disseminate and oversee the implementation of National and County Government policies
Provide direction and guidance to public officers in the County
Perform any other functions as directed by the County Executive Committee
Requirements for Appointment
Be a Kenyan Citizen
Be in possession of Bachelor's degree from a university recognized in Kenya.
Master's degree or higher academic qualification from a university recognized in Kenya will be an added advantage. Have at least 10 years' experience in senior administration and management
Possess knowledge of organization and functions of Government
Have thorough knowledge of the structural, legislative and regulatory frame work of the public service.
Satisfy the requirements of chapter six of the constitution of Kenya
Demonstrate understanding and commitment to the values and principles as outlined in Articles (10) and 232 of the Constitution of Kenya.
Computer literate Core Competencies: The following core competencies and skills will be required for the position of County Secretary. knowledge in policy making, ability to transform vision/ manifesto into Government policies and impart
understanding of the same to members of staff
Institutional development through structures, systems and mechanisms for effective and efficient delivery of services Ability to coordinate the entire County Public Service and other internal and external stakeholders
Strong leadership and influencing skills Ability to communicate Government policies, programs, projects and intentions to the public and other stakeholders
Ability to develop and set international best practices and standards to guide the delivery of services and development agenda Knowledge of international, national and county specific development goals and obligations and mainstreaming them into the County agenda and hands-on approach to execution of duties
