Mabati Rolling Mills EHS Officer Jobs in Kenya

MRM Athi River is seeking to recruit an Environment, Health and Safety Officer.

The candidate must have the ability to work independently with minimal supervision, demonstrate high intergrity and professional ethics and make decisions on the role in a prudent manner.

Overall Purpose of the Position:

To maintain a positive safety culture throughout the company that will cultivate the value of safety to each individual and be practiced at every level.

Key Performance Areas:

Ensure compliance and enforcement of all health, safety and environmental issues

Ensure a system is in place for reporting, investigating, analyzing and documenting all Health Safety and Environment (HSE) incidents, regulatory compliance incidents, and significant near misses

Establish a process to verify that corrective action, as a result of incident investigations are
documented and implemented

Develop and implement pre-departure and post-departure checklist, safety drills etc.

Develop and review Safety and Operations Manuals

Ensure all personnel have the necessary HSE training required for their jobs

Secure operating permits where necessary

Maintaining and tracking safety files, certification and licenses

Ensure compliance with the HSE rules and regulations including NEMA regulations

Minimum Qualifications and Experience Requirements :

Bachelor’s Degree

in Environment Health and Safety or a related field

3 years of working experience in a manufacturing setup

Personal Attributes specific to work requirement:

Strong working knowledge of occupational and environmental regulations and risks

Excellent written and oral communication skills and a strong ability to lead and influence others

Experience in drafting and implementing procedural documents

Analytical skills

Problem solving skills

Conflict resolution skills

Interpersonal Effectiveness

Planning & organizing skills

Team leadership skills
