Lutheran World Federation Kenya- Somalia, Kakuma Program is seeking to recruit a National staff for the following position;
Head Teacher -Kakuma
Job SummaryThe job holder is responsible for overall management of the institution in line with Ministry of education, UNICEF quality standards and Education in Emergency (EiE) standards.
Duties and Responsibilities:Plan & coordinate school activities in consultation with BOM, PA, teachers, learners and Education managers.
Oversee the implementation of curriculum in line with prevailing standards.
Overall management and maintenance of school infrastructure, resources and records.
Create a safe environment for learning by promoting CFS policy, CP&SG policy and adherence to TSC and organizational code of conduct.
Coordination with the M.O.E., UNHCR and partners to ensure provision of quality pre
and primary education including internal and external assessments (formative and summative)..
Promote linkages between teachers, parents and the community (Secretary to BOM.)
Keep abreast of and create awareness on emerging issues e.g. GBV, PSEA, FGM HIV/AIDS, early pregnancies and drug abuse.
Timely preparation and submission of reports (weekly, monthly, situational and termly reports).
Qualifications and Experience
Hold a P1 Certificate in Education or Diploma in Education
Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field – added advantage
Minimum 5 years relevant working experience including a supervisory role in a school
Experience working in a refugee setup
Registered with the Teachers Service Commission (TSC)
Good understanding of the Competency Based Curriculum (CBC) education system, its implementation and delivery.
