Job Description

The position holder shall be responsible for evaluating suppliers, products, and services, negotiating contracts, and ensuring that approved purchases are cost-efficient and of high quality.

Responsibilities

Support the development and implementation of procurement policies and procedures that align with business objectives and ensure compliance with regulations.

Assist in identifying procurement needs and work with other departments to develop procurement plans and specifications.

Assist in identifying and evaluating potential vendors and suppliers, and preparing requests for proposals and quotes.

Support the negotiation of contracts and terms of service with vendors and suppliers.

Assist in monitoring vendor performance and managing vendor relationships.

Assist in ensuring timely delivery of goods and services and managing inventory levels.

Support the procurement budget and provide regular reporting on procurement activities.

Maintain procurement records and ensure compliance with procurement regulations and policies.

Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements in procurement operations.

Collaborate with the Procurement Manager and other departments to ensure effective procurement operations.

Qualifications, Experience, and Attributed Skills

First Degree in a related discipline from a reputable university.

4-6 years cognate experience. Experience in coordinating high-value complex multiple procurement programs related to infrastructure projects will be an advantage.

Relevant

certifications e.g., Certified Purchasing Manager will be an added advantage.

Excellent Communication skills (oral and written), Ability to prioritize and schedule tasks. Excellent negotiation and people management skills.

Excellent analysis skills.

Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office tools.
