ResponsibilitiesCoordinate delivery of 'Girls Reading to Learn' project output with 4 woredas and up to 139 schools, with a focus on:
Access to academic, social-emotional, ‘basic needs’, life skills and hygiene inputs
Better opportunities for girls to catch-up on missed learning
Improved wellbeing, self-esteem, and self-confidence
Work closely with 4 woreda office heads and all cluster supervisors to ensure output delivery as per workplan and report on implementation progress to Programme Manager
Coordinate and oversee woreda and school level training and all capacity building aspects of output
Coordinate and oversee resource production, distribution and usage
Responsible for ensuring girls receive materials that the project offers at the appropriate time and that remaining materials are stored and carefully monitored
Reporting to LCDE Programme Manager regarding all aspects of output 4 implementation
Foster positive working relationships with Wolaita Zone Education Department, four woreda education offices, schools and communities (in consultation with Programme Manager).
Participate in Project Management committee meetings
Work very closely with LCDE F&A team to ensure effective and timely monthly payments of service deliveries at school level

The Accounts Clerk will be responsible for cash management (on demand), documentation, advance, FIRA report, stock register management/ H/she also needs to work diligently towards the proper implementation of these activities. The Accounts Clerk is expected to generate all financial reports of the specific position in a timely manner towards the achievement of the departmental goal. S/he will collaborate closely with the Finance & Admin Officer to provide support and assistance as needed. Based full-time in Wolaita Soddo, the successful candidate will work as part of the LCD programme team supporting school improvement, girls’ education and language competence across 126 schools and four woredas in partnership with the Regional Education Bureau and Wolaita Zone Education Department.

Responsibilities
Quality assurance of plans and BOQ with architects, surveyors and engineers
Working with external experts to undertake detailed review of plans to schedule deliverables and estimate costs
Lead on tendering process for contracts
Negotiate
terms of agreements, draft contracts and ensure that correct permits and licenses are obtained
Work with contractors to develop detailed work schedules and performance guarantees
Carry out regular inspections in close collaboration with woreda, zonal and regional Ministry of Education staff to ensure that the contractor is adhering to the construction programme timing, quality standards and that contractor certificates are verified against construction milestones
Check quality of materials; oversee selection of tools and equipment and track inventories
Verify that advanced contract payments have been correctly utilised for procurement of up-front materials
Take responsibility for compliance with required Health and Safety and Environmental standards
Monitoring building progress and costs and ensure service providers meet contractual conditions of performance
Checking quality of workmanship and the use of proper construction techniques
Prepare internal and external reports pertaining to construction status
Plan ahead to prevent problems and resolve any emerging ones
Analyse, manage and mitigate risks
Work very closely with woreda education offices to ensure ownership

Responsibilities
Providing driving services for LCD staff and others involved with our projects as instructed by line manager
Picking and dropping as well as transporting LCDE guests to and from airports, major towns and cities as instructed by line manager
Receiving and delivering of goods to project areas and/or anywhere else as instructed by line manager
Processing and/or handling of minor procurement as instructed by line manager
Running of errands
Providing administrative and clerical support during implementation of programme activities at all levels as instructed by line manager
Handling and/or dealing with simple bureaucratic processes such as paying of utility bills, processing the annual vehicle inspection, processing of annual vehicle & road tax
Checking basic maintenance (oil, coolant, water, tyre pressure, battery water) regularly.
Maintaining a daily log of all trips, mileage and fuel consumption for monthly checking by line manager
Completing information required for monthly vehicle reports to be submitted to line manager
Ensuring that all major incidents are reported to the Programme Manager immediately.
Ensuring that vehicles are taken to the garage in good time when faults emerge.
Ensuring that vehicles are clean at all times.
Any other duties as instructed by line manager ocedures as well as with Ethiopian law; to drive LCD staff as and when required**
