Our client would like to fill the position of a Finance Officer who will be reporting to the Managing Partner

The job holder will be responsible for making the Managing Partner’s vision a reality through effective management of all aspects of the firm’s financial operations. Align with the vision of the marketing Partner in leading the business and create value by identifying and evaluating financial strategies for enhancing the firms value and performance

Law Firm Finance Officer Job in Kenya

Responsibilities

  • Strategic planning –Serve as a member of the Management Committee and participate proactively with other Senior Executive Staff in developing and executing strategic plans to support the firm’s business objectives.
  • Finance and Accounts – Overall responsibility for the financial management and strategy of the firm and ensure its financial security.
  • Client Management – With the support of the Operations Officer, successfully manage the client’s need for improved efficiency and value, and most importantly, reduced cost.
  • Regulatory compliance – Ensure firm compliance with financial reporting and control requirements.
  • Ensure the timely filing of all taxes.
  • Human Resource
    – Develop, document, communicate, and enforce policies and procedures relating to financial functions.
  • IT/management – Deliver financial efficiencies through the use of ICT.
  • Risk management – Assess and manage the risks associated with firm’s financial strategy.

    Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance or some other appropriate area, a CPA/CFA certification.
  • At least 10 years’ experience in a finance role, of which at least 5 years’ experience in senior level financial management in a medium – large size professional service firm including some experience in the financial operation of a law firm.
  • Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • Proven understanding of corporate and partnership taxation.
  • Significant knowledge of legal ethics rules, guidelines and compliance issues relating to client representations and engagements.
  • Familiarity with law firm financial systems/tools and able to stay current on such technologies.
