Purpose of the Jobs

Guard, patrol and monitor Study Centre premises to prevent theft, violence or violation of rules.

Responsibilities and Duties

Patrol Study Centre premises to prevent theft and also detect signs of intrusion.

Ensure security of doors, windows and glasses.

Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors and other persons.

Write reports of daily activities and irregularities such as equipment or property damage,theft, presence of unauthorized persons or unusual occurrences.

Call police in cases of emergency such as fire or presence of unauthorized persons.

Circulate among visitors, patrons and employees to preserve order and protect properly.

Answer telephone calls to take messages, answer questions, and provide information
during non-business hours or when the switch board is closed.

Warn persons of violation of rules, and apprehend or evict violators from premises using
force where necessary.

To perform any other duties that may be assigned by the Human Resource and Administration Officer.

Qualifications and Experince

Uganda Certificate of Education with at least two passes one of which must be in English.

Possession of a certificate in security training.

At least two years’ experience as a Security Guard in a public organization, NGO or
reputable private organization.

Key Competencies

High level of integrity and confidentiality.

Time management.

Loyalty.

Good level of physical fitness
