Kwale International Sugar Company Limited is seeking a highly qualified and suitable candidate in the following position:
Job Summary:
Preparing detailed working diagrams of machinery and mechanical devices, including dimensions, fastening methods and other engineering information.
Duties and Responsibilities
Creating technical drawings, manufacturing schematics, and D2 and 3D digital models of mechanical equipment designs using measurements, specifications and additional data from the mechanical engineering team of the company.
Collecting initials drawings, calculations and designing ideas from engineers and the technical team, and combining all relevant data into coherent and complete initial design models for review and modification.
Coordinating directly with engineers and project managers to understand projects requirements verifying design details and recommending modification as needed according to company standards and best practice.
Annotating and verifying all numerical designations and specifications in technical drawings and schematics, using both CAD programs and manual calculations when necessary.
Communicating to engineering and process personnel to create detailed layout for production and assisting in designing, creating and testing production molds.
Providing support to engineering team as needed by creating technical drawings and digital models within deadlines and utilizing multiple methods to ensure deliverables, including all relevant design details.
Assisting in on-going projects to standardize and unify design document standards by participating in meetings and preparing presentation materials as necessary.
Developing of detailed design drawings and specifications for mechanical equipment, dies/tools and controls, using computer-assisted drafting (CAD) equipment.
Coordinating with and consulting managers and workers to design, layout, or detail components and systems and, to resolve design or other problems.
Reviewing and analyzing specifications, sketches, drawings, ideas and related data to assess factors affecting component designs and the procedures and instructions to be followed.
Computing mathematical formulas to develop and design detailed specifications for component or machinery, using computer-assisted equipment.
Positioning instructions and comments on drawings
Modifying and revising designs to correct
operating deficiencies or to reduce production problems.
Designing scale or full-size blueprints of specialty items, such as assemblies, factory parts and components.
Checking dimensions of materials to be used and assigning numbers to the materials.
Laying out and drawing schematics, orthographic, or angle views to depict functional relationships of components, assemblies, systems, and machines.
Drawing freehand sketches of designs, tracing finished drawings onto designated paper for the reproduction of blueprints, and reproducing of working documents on copy machines.
Laying out, drawing and reproducing illustrations for reference manuals and technical publications to describe operation and maintenance of mechanical systems.
Shading or coloring drawings to clarify and emphasize details and dimensions and eliminate background, using ink, crayon, airbrush or overlays.
Supervising and training other draughts men, fitters, technicians, turners, machinists etc.
Conferring with senior factory personnel to review schematics and respond to inquiries pertaining to installation of systems.
Job Skills & Qualifications
Mechanical engineering degree
Proficient with AutoCAD, civil 3D and CADWork
Excellent technical communication skills with engineers and manufacturing personnel
Strong attention to detail and mathematical abilities.
Professional certification in mechanical drafting.
Experience with mechanical manufacturing process.
