Kwale County Director, Water Services Jobs in Kenya

Duties and Responsibilities:

Assist the County Executive Committee Member and the Department Accounting Officer in Development of appropriate county water policies, Strategy, legal and institutional framework for the implementation of the mandate of the department;

Assist the Department’s Accounting Officer in Implementation of the strategic plan and objectives of the department;

Will be responsible for overall management, coordination, Monitoring and reporting on
water Supply and Sewerage infrastructure projects

Preparation and execution of annual work plans and activity specific schedules

Provide technical and management guidance in all aspects of water resources management;

Provide technical guidance in performing design work and scientific calculations of Water and Sewerage infrastructure;

Incorporating new initiatives into the schemes of work; and

Handling technical, administrative, human resource, budgetary and assets management issues

Any other duties assigned from time to time by the County Executive Committee Member and Department Accounting Officer

Requirements for Appointment:

Minimum Requirements for Appointment For appointment to this position, a candidate must:

Have a Bachelor of Science Degree in either Civil Engineering, Water Engineering, Soil and water Engineering, Water and Environmental Engineering, Water Resources Management or equivalent qualifications from a recognized

University

Have at least Six (6) years relevant work experience and at least three (3) served in a
position of Superintendent Engineer or higher position or served in a comparable and relevant position in the public/private sector

Be a member of Relevant Professional Body/Bodies

Have registered with Relevant Professional accreditation Institution(s)

Have a Master degree in Civil Engineering, Water Engineering, Soil water and

Environmental Engineering, Water Resources Management from a recognized institution.
