Kvinna Till Kvinna Programme Officer Women’s Economic Empowerment Jobs in Rwanda; As a Programme Officer, you will play a key role in supporting and strengthening women’s rights organisations in Rwanda. You will be responsible for managing partnerships, monitoring programme activities, and facilitating capacity-building efforts in thematic areas such as women’s economic empowerment, gender-based violence, sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR), conflict resolution, and peacebuilding.


Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary point of contact for a portfolio of local partner organisations doing women economic empowerment programming, ensuring strong communication and collaboration.

  • Assess and monitor partner organisations’ programme activities, reports, and budgets, ensuring alignment with Kvinna till Kvinna’s strategy and objectives.

  • Lead capacity-strengthening initiatives for partner organisations, particularly in women’s economic empowerment, and coordinate thematic networking events.

  • Develop and lead research initiatives related to Kvinna till Kvinna’s Rwanda programme.

  • Identify and assess potential new partner organisations.

  • Represent Kvinna till Kvinna in official meetings with government institutions, donors, and international organisations, as delegated by the Country Director.

  • Contribute to donor reporting, programme documentation, and country analysis.

  • Support the Rwanda Governance Board reporting process for Kvinna till Kvinna’s partner organisations.

  • Provide regular updates on political developments and actively participate in thematic and country analyses.

    About you

    We are seeking a committed and proactive professional with experience in programme management, capacity development, and technical expertise in women’s economic empowerment. You thrive in alliance-building, have a deep understanding
    of gender equality and civil society in Rwanda, and excel in engaging multiple stakeholders.

    Qualifications

  • Relevant higher education in business studies, gender studies, international relations, development studies, human rights, or a related field.

  • At least three years of experience in development cooperation, programme management, or working with civil society organisations.

  • Proven experience in women’s economic empowerment, entrepreneurship support programs, particularly in rural settings, mentoring and coaching women entrepreneurs in business development, and capacity development.

  • Strong knowledge of gender equality, women’s rights, and advocacy in Rwanda.

  • Experience in project monitoring, evaluation, and results-based management.

  • Strong leadership and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire diverse groups of partners

  • Fluency in English and Kinyarwanda, French is an asset.
