Position summary

The Radiation Oncologist’s job exists to coordinate and provide specialized services,
coordinate research and training and advise the hospital.

Duties and Responsibilities

Conducting tests and examinations to confirm diagnoses of cancer.

Executing radiation treatments.

Developing treatment plans which comprise the appropriate therapeutic techniques and drug dosages to be administered.

Consistently monitoring patients' progress.

Providing pharmacological treatment and suggesting appropriate lifestyle changes.

Ensure use of all Hospital’s automated systems, as appropriate, including the Hospital
Management Information System (HMIS);

Any other responsibility assigned by the supervisor in the delivery of care.

Minimum Academic Qualifications

Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from a recognized institution.

Master of Medicine in Radiation Oncology from recognized institution

Registration with the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC).

Recognition as a specialist by the KMPDC

Valid Practice License.

Professional Insurance Indemnity Cover.

Proficiency in computer applications.

At least one year’ working experience as a Radiation Oncologist in a busy hospital.
