Medical Gastroenterologist - V/FT/134/2022 – 1 Post

Position Summary

The Gastroenterologist coordinates and provides specialized gastroenterology services and participate in research in the area of specialization.

Duties and Responsibilities

Performing specialized diagnostic procedures like endoscopies to diagnose patients.

Managing both inpatients and outpatients with gastro-intestinal disorders.

Consulting with other specialists, such as oncologists, in the case of cancer.

Performing advanced GI procedures such as ERCP, stenting of esophagus, dilation of strictures

Should be able to supervise registrars and medical students.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from a recognized institution.

Master of Medicine in internal medicine from a recognized institution.

Fellowship in Gastroenterology from a recognized institution.

Registration with the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC).

Recognition as a specialist by the KMPDC.

Valid Practice License.

Professional Insurance Indemnity Cover.

Proficiency in computer applications.

At least one (1) year working experience as a Gastroenterologist in a busy hospital.
