Position Summary

The Draughtsman is responsible for ensuring that works are carried out in accordance with the
necessary Specifications, are involved with design specification and procedures and ensure that the
procedures are adhered to.

Duties and Responsibilities

Produce Mechanical drawings in AutoCAD.

Produce plant/machinery/equipment layouts

Produce machine components drawings (assembly drawings for machines)

Prepare basic Mechanical/civil engineering construction drawings and foundation drawings.

Arrange and keep engineering drawing office records.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

Diploma in Mechanical Engineering and technical certification as mechanical draughtsman and
minimum of three (3) years of successful work as Mechanical Draughtsman in an engineering firm.

AUTO CAD Designing (Mechanical), covering 3D Drafting.

Drawing and designing ability.

Ability to translate concepts on to paper and to visualize things in three-dimensional terms.

Demonstrated commitment to accuracy and manual dexterity.

Proficiency in Computer skills; and

Complied with the requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010
