Anatomic Pathologist- V/FT/145/2022 - 2 Posts

Position Summary

The Anatomic Pathologist performs autopsy, histopathology, cytopathology, molecular tests and training and research in the field of pathology.

The officer is to report to the head of pathology.

Duties and Responsibilities

Perform and report fine needle aspirates

Examination & Dissection of Surgical Sections

Reporting Histopathology & Cytopathology

Verification of critical, unusual, and abnormal test results before release.

Approval of SOPs for use and ensuring compliance with respect to regulatory requirements.

Ensuring conformance to Histopathology Quality Indicators.

Reporting Immunohistochemistry and molecular tests.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degree or any other equivalent qualification from an institution recognized by the Kenya medical practitioners and dentists council

Master of Medicine in Anatomic Pathology or Human Pathology from an institution recognized by the Kenya medical practitioners and dentists council.

Registration with the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council KMPDC).

Recognition as a specialist by the KMPDC.

Valid Practice License from the Kenya medical practitioners and dentists council.

Professional Insurance Indemnity Cover.

Proficiency in computer applications.

At least 1 year experience as an Anatomic Pathologist in a busy hospital
