Position Summary

This role seeks a professional with cognate experience in Intelligent Automation (IA) to help clients automate business processes using technologies such as RPA, business process management (BPM), analytics and artificial intelligence.

This is a Full Time, Hybrid Pan-African role, with responsibility for leading a team across the continent, and the resource will be based in either Johannesburg, Nairobi, or Lagos.

Role and Responsibilities

Strategy

  • Provide technical IA support to the Africa digital transformation team.

  • Leverage regional alliances with technology partners (e.g. Microsoft, Oracle, IBM, AWS, Google, etc) to drive proactive leads generation, joint pitch, pipeline management and conversions as they relate to intelligent automation.

  • Work with relevant functional areas and service lines across the Firm to deliver on client engagement and sales initiatives

  • Leverage local and global KPMG artefacts, SMEs, and other network assets to advance the firm’s data & analytics agenda.

  • Manage, coach and grow the IA team.

  • Participate in the development and publication of thought leadership.

    Client Impact

  • Develop and implement process improvement strategies that align with business objectives and deliver measurable results.

  • Provide leadership and guidance to cross-functional teams to ensure the successful delivery of process improvement/ operations transformation projects.

  • Design robotic systems from start to finish for clients.

  • Develop and implement software that will control robots.

  • Create prototypes and work on necessary components Perform integration tests and quality control.

  • Apply machine learning techniques to improve process outcomes.

  • Create complete documentation for robotic systems Monitor the use of robotic systems and optimize functionalities.

  • Troubleshoot defects in robot design and development.

  • Promote awareness of KPMG’s Intelligent Automation capabilities.

  • Identify business opportunities across Africa and develop new client relationships to expand the business and ensure a rich pipeline

  • Provide subject matter expertise on IA for clients in relevant industries.

  • Lead business development activities including targeting key C-suite, proposing services and closing opportunities.

  • Lead highly skilled client and KPMG work teams throughout the project lifecycle by leveraging IA approaches and frameworks and helping to ensure timely execution of project deliverables.

    Finance

  • Deliver on targets and goals (including sales goals)

  • Provide annual budget input for the area of responsibility for approval and integration into service line/
    growth area budget

  • Manage the annual budget, including costs for designated area

    Qualifications, Experience and Skills

    The ideal candidate has:

  • 10+ years of experience in IA spanning business process management; robotic process automation (RPA) with advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI); optical character recognition (OCR); intelligent character recognition (ICR) and process mining.

  • Deep experience with creating end-to-end business processes that think, learn and adapt on their own.

  • Deep hands-on experience with intelligent automation frameworks and services available on Platforms such as Azure, AWS or GCP.

  • Deep knowledge of AI programming languages and frameworks such as Python, Java, etc.

  • Proven experience with RPA tools such as UiPath, Blue Prism, Automation Anywhere, Power Automate, etc.

  • Proven experience with low code and no-code platforms.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team of engineers and consultants.

  • Proven track record of delivering results and exceeding client expectations within a variety of industries.

  • Good knowledge of supply chain, demand planning and replenishment, forecasting, scheduling, inventory optimization and working capital.

  • Knowledge of cost, efficiency, and productivity optimization methods.

  • Ability to develop and evaluate integrated systems.

  • Demonstrated experience developing relationships with senior clients in a professional services environment.

  • Being a self-starter and able to work independently including across multiple priorities and complex matrixed roles and responsibilities.

  • Confident, tactful and able to effectively influence others and deal effectively with senior leaders.

  • Strong communicator, including listening skills with an ability to translate insights across business and technology teams and to develop and present new ideas and conceptualize new approaches and solutions.

  • Strong team and work ethic, comfortable with ambiguity, change and challenge.
