Your Role

  • As Sales Trainer, your job will be to maximize the Customer Sales team’s effectiveness by determining and meeting training needs.

  • You will own the entire training process up to the placement of a team member with their leader.

  • Your focus will start with recruitment, continue to classroom and in-trade training, and include ongoing training post-placement. .

    What You Will Do

    • Interview candidates for sales rep, sales leader, and sales manager roles

    • Deliver 3-day Intensive Sales School training to new joiners

    • Welcome, train and prepare new recruits by owning their onboarding process (facilitating resource distribution and spending time in field solidifying classroom training)

    • Spend time in the trade working with new joiners to solidify classroom training and habit forming, with a special focus on accurate reporting and time management to ensure readiness for hand-over

    • Test the capability of new joiners in the field, by using the Sales Cycle Checklist in order to determine whether they are ready to be passed to the handover stage

    • Deliver weekly training segments at the weekly department meeting

    • Identify strongest sales representatives to focus training efforts on in invite only training meetings and during accompaniments to the trade to monitor and coach the delivery of their sales talk and self-talk

    • Test the effectiveness of classroom training in-the-trade by completing the Sales Cycle Checklist
    and preparing reports and recommendations conferring with sales managers on findings and recommendations

    • Learn to sell the product yourself to show the team how it's done

    What You Will Bring to KOKO

    • 2+ years of experience independently facilitating training to groups of 5+ people

    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent

    • Track record of closing 15%+ percent of sales pipeline

    • Coaching experience (a qualification is advantageous)

    • Computer skills (Google / MS Office suite)

    • Excellent verbal and written communication in English & Swahili

    • Comfort speaking to people for 10+ hours a day, 5 days a week

    • A high energy approach to training and development - starting with you own continuous learning

    • A passion for people development

    • A proven love and understanding of sales and its key metrics

    • Ability to thrive under pressure and deadlines
