Qualifications Required

The following qualifications are required;

Bachelor of Science in Clinical Medicine and Community Health from a University accredited or
recognized in Kenya. Plus three (3) years post internship working experience.

Registered with the Clinical Officer’s Council.
OR

Higher diploma in Clinical Medicine and surgery in any of the relevant specialties e.g. Pediatrics, ENT, Anesthesia, Ophthalmology, Skin and Chest etc. from a learning institution
recognized in Kenya plus five (5) years cumulative working experience.

Registered with the Clinical Officer’s Council.
OR

Bachelor of Science in Clinical Medicine and Community Health, or Clinical Medicine & Surgery
with Environmental health and Counseling Psychology from a learning institution recognized in Kenya.

OR

Higher diploma in Clinical Medicine and surgery in any of the relevantspecialties e.g.
Pediatrics, ENT, Anesthesia, Ophthalmology, Skin and Chest etc. from a learning institution
recognized in Kenya.

Three years working experience as a Clinical Officer II.

Duties and Responsibilities

Reporting to the head of department, the main duties will include:

Examining patients

Screening of patients for referral

Diagnosing and treating patient ailments

Planning and conducting community healthcare activities

Health education to patients.

Professional guidance to health staff.

Handling filtered and referred patients according to his/her specialty

Any other duties that may be assigned by the supervisor.
