KKCO East Africa Deputy Principal
Our client Sunshine Secondary Schoolis seeking to recruit a high caliber, results oriented, experienced and highly skilled individual for the position of the Deputy Principal.
Main Purpose of Job
The core duties of a Deputy Principal will be to assist the School Principal in managing the school and promoting theeducation of learners to agreed standards set by the school. Undertaking other delegated responsibilities as and when needed.
Key Responsibilities/accountabilities
General Management Responsibilities:
Provide strategic leadership when standing in for the absence of the principal.
Provides professional leadership and supports The Principal in operational and academic matters and has a comprehensive understanding of the curriculum.
Teaching in his / her area of specialization as and when required.
To promote the use of ICT in teaching and learning.
Perform human resource support functions that includes conducting performance appraisals.
Manage quality in terms of the teaching and learning environment.
Manage and conduct learner assessments
Manage the school’s environment to ensure it is safe and secure for all.
Ensure that academic and financial records are accurately kept.
Solve problems in a creative way to improve circumstances, situation, or processes within the parameters of the school governance structures.
Ensuring that a School Logbook or Incident Book is maintained containing a record of all-important events connected with the school.
Assist in the management of all external projects, visits, and school trips.
Stakeholder management -Liaise
with learners, staff, parents, and the school governing body.
Key Performance Measures
School administration and staff team Leadership.
Meeting the strategic Plan objectives.
Compliance withall statutory requirements; and
Policy implementation.
Knowledge, Experience and Personal Attributes
Qualification
Be a Kenyan citizen.
Registered with TSC
Bachelor of Education Degree (BED) or Post Graduate Degree in Education (PGDE) from a recognized University.
Should demonstrate good understanding of both 844 and CBC curriculum.
Have at least 10 years relevant experience as ahigh schoolteacher with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role within asecondary school
Personal Attributes
A hands-on manager with integrity and a desire to work in a dynamic environment.
Strong analytical skills and experience in interpreting a strategic vision into an operational model.
Effective communicator at all levels in the organization, with strong oral and writtenskills in English language and
Ability to manage change.
