Duties and Responsibilities

Prepare the patientbefore and after surgery by washing and disinfectingthe area for surgery.

Prepare necessary equipment and instruments prior procedure/surgery.

Assists inbringingthepatient to the operating room.

Attends to the needs of the patient while inside the operating room.

Assist surgeon duringthe procedure

Assist nursing staff in keeping patients safe duringthe procedure by assisting nurses with the application of restraints and following the recommended protocol.

Provides assistance to the surgicalteam and coordinates very closely with the doctors, nurses and laborutory staff.

Clean and disinfect the operating room area after each procedure / Surgery.

Maintain compliance with all institutional policies and procedures.

Any other duty as may be assigned by the in-charge.

Competences

Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education Mean Grade D (Plain )

Certificate inTheatreTechnology

Keen on detailwith ahigh degree of accuracy

Good communication skills

Ability to work under pressure andkeen on detatl

Demonstrate understanding of and commitment to the values and principles outlined in Articles 1.0 and 232 of the Constitution.
