Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collect blood samples from patients.

  • Practice proper patientidentification, especially when working on hospital floors.

  • Label vials with patient names and dates.

  • Decipher the best methodfor drawrngblood depending on the specific patient.

  • Centiifuge blood samples, dependingon if this is allowed in the state you are working in.

  • Ability to work with alarge number of patients varying in age andhealth status.

  • Run quality control for all machines and reagents before tests are done to ensure validity and correctness of results.

  • Ensure confidentiality of all patients' results at all times;

  • Demonstrate underctanding of and commitment to the valires and principles outlined in

    Competencies

  • Be a Kenyan citizen

  • Diploma inLaboratory Sciences from recognized institution

  • Registration and Licensed by the professional body

  • Ability to work with minimum supervision.

  • Ability to analyze and evaluate data crrtically.

  • Ability to prepare andkeep budgets.

  • Computer literate.
