10. Senior Housing Officer/Architect I Jobs in Kenya (1 Post) -Job Group ‘M/N’ Ref: KSM/CPSB/2017/207
Requirements for Appointment:Must have a first degree in housing administration, urban/regional development, Architecture or any other relevant field from a recognized institution;
Must have a minimum of three (3) years’ experience in housing management, Architecture in the public sector in Job Group “L” or have served in comparable level in the private sector for a period of five (5) years.;
A Master’s degree in a relevant field will be an added advantage;
Must be a registered member of a professional body in good standing;
Must have attended a Senior Management Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution;
Must demonstrate outstanding capabilities in management within the building sector.
Must have demonstrated merit and shown ability as reflected in work performance and results
Demonstrate understanding of and commitment to the values and principles outlined in Articles 10 and 232 of the Constitution
Satisfy the requirements of Chapter 6 of the Constitution of Kenya
Duties and Responsibilities;
Formulate and ensure the implementation of Housing policies; national, regional, County, urban specific strategies, regulations and standards.
Superintend over the Housing Officers and Technical Staff in Housing
Coordinate the different functions of the Housing Units ensuring that all the sections work harmoniously
Review the staffing requirements for Housing from time to time
Undertaking studies and research on County specific matters related to housing
Undertaking regional, national and international studies on matters relating to Housing and localizing them as per best practices adopted
Any other function as delegated by the County Director of Housing

Requirements for Appointment:
Be a Kenyan citizen
Must have a Diploma in Building & Construction or any other related field from a recognized institution;

Duties and Responsibilities
Reporting to the Sub-County Physical Planner the Building Inspector shall:
Enforce the provisions of the building code and development control requirements
Conduct Periodical Inspection of all building/ development works at the Sub-County and prepare regular reports to County Physical planner.
Process buildings development applications.
Oversight compliance to building code.
Map and prepare inventory for structural audit of structures/buildings.
Prepare regular
reports on status of all constructions at the Sub-county level.
Any other relevant duty as may be assigned by the Sub-County Physical Planner

Reporting to Director Energy and Mining
Duties and Responsibilities
• Preparing County energy plans, incorporating petroleum and electricity master plans
• In charge of physical planning relating to energy resource areas
• Collecting and maintaining accurate energy data
• Facilitating energy demand by planning for industrial parks and other energy consuming activities
• Preparing and implementing disaster management plans
• Undertaking and coordinating energy surveys/site inspections
• Keeping up to date with changes in legislation and initiatives, including EU energy performance directives
• Promoting energy conservation awareness via events such as presentations, workshops and conservation projects
Requirements for Appointment
• Be a Kenyan citizen
• Be a holder of a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or its equivalent
• At least three (3) years’ experience in energy and related fields
• Proficiency in computer applications
• Must be able to demonstrate understanding of energy issues in the sector
• Effective communication skills
• Excellent planning, presentation and evaluation skills
• Demonstrate understanding of and commitment to the values and principles outlined in Articles 10 and 232 of the Constitution; and
