Kisumu County Assistant Animal Health Officer - Animal Health Assistant (Meat Inspectors) Jobs in Kenya

Duties and Responsibilities:

This is an essential specialized skill that is required to ensure consumer access to safety and quality meat. The entry grade for Diploma holders (Assistant Animal Health Officer III) will be JG “H” and Certificate holders (Animal Health Assistant 11) JG “G”. Specific duties and responsibilities will involve:

Undertaking meat inspection and enforcing slaughterhouse hygiene and meat transport regulations;

Carrying out extension services in areas of veterinary public health;

Participate in disease cor*rol programs; and

Collecting relevant data and making monthly reports.

Requirements for Appointment

For appointment to this grade a candidate must;

A diploma or certificate in any of the following disciplines: - Animal Health, Animal Health and Production and Veterinary Public Health and Meat Technology or its equivalent and relevant qualification from an institution recognized in Kenya;

A certificate in Environmental Health Science in Meat Inspection for diploma and certificate graduates in animal health and animal health and production;

Registration and licensing by the Kenya Veterinary Board

Certificate in computer applications;

Be a member of a veterinary professional association in Good Standing;
