Requirements for Appointment

To be eligible for appointment to the position of Tutorial Fellow, the candidate must have:

Bachelor’s degree and a Master's degree from an accredited/ recognized University:
MBChB or BDS;

Demonstrable potential for university teaching and or research during the appointment interview and also during the contract period;

Registered for a relevant Doctorate (Ph.D.) degree or MDS or MMed;

Evidence of membership or affiliation to the relevant professional body where applicable;

Proficiency in computer applications;

Demonstrated merit and ability as reflected in work performance;

Duties and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Chairperson of Department a Tutorial Fellow will be expected to:

Actively pursue their PhD studies and complete within the required time frame

Assist with Lecturing in area of specialization in accordance with the curriculum up to Bachelor’s level;

Assist in setting, invigilating and marking examination/assignments;

Carrying out research work under the guidance and supervision of a senior academic member of staff;

Assist preparing students progress reports; and
