Non-Academic Positions in the ICT Department
Responsibilities
Work with Subject Matter Experts to identify what students need to learn
Revise and rewrite content to shape it for learning needs
Structure content and activities for student learning
Create media to support learning (e.g., visual aids for face-to-face, various multimedia for e-learning and online)
Adapt instructional materials created for one format to another format
(usually this is adapting materials from face-to-face to e-learning)
Any other duties assigned by immediate supervisor.
Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree in Computer Sciences /Information Technology or its
equivalent from accredited and recognized University.
Must have at least 3 years working experience of Learning Management Systems like Moodle, WebCT and Blackboard or similar online educational platforms in an institution of higher learning.
Must be proficient in working with UNIX/Linux environments.
Must be proficient in using Apache webserver.
Must be proficient in PHP scripting language.
Must be proficient in using MySQL, PostgreSQL, MSSQL and SQLite databases.
Demonstrated experience working with ERP systems, preferably in a University, will an added advantage

Qualifications

Proven Website Development/Management experience of Minimum of 3 years.
Sound web design skills which include the ability to work with Web Content Management Systems (WCMs) and databases.
A working knowledge of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) techniques.
Demonstrated experience working with ERP systems, preferably in a University, will an added advantage.
Minimum experience of 2 years of managing web server(C-PANEL).
Develop or implement procedures for ongoing web site revision.
Graphic designing skills using software like Photoshop, fireworks, in design will be of added advantage.

Responsibilities
Maintain and administer computer networks and related computing environments including computer hardware, systems software, applications software, and all configurations.
Monitor network performance to determine whether adjustments need to be made, and to determine where changes will need to be made in
the future.
Plan, coordinate, and implement network security solutions, including firewall, anti-virus and intrusion detection systems to protect data,
software, and hardware.
Coordinate installation, configuration, and maintenance of end user workstation hardware, software and peripheral devices.
Diagnose and resolve performance, connectivity and related network problems, including hardware, software, user access, VolP phone system and wireless networks.
Maintain network software/hardware asset inventories, including related documentation and technical specifications of equipment and
applications.
Assist with planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting and optimizing all existing and new network hardware,
software and communication links.
Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree in Computer Sciences /Information Technology or its equivalent from accredited and recognized University.
Proficient knowledge of common client operating systems; including MS Windows, OSX, and Linux/Unix software.
Proficient knowledge of network operating languages;
Proficient in Microsoft Active Directory as implemented in Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 and Windows Server 2012, and implementing multi-forest relationships
Ability to set up and monitor a Virtual Private Network
Ability to troubleshoot complex network issues using a variety of network tools like sniffers and analyzers.
At least three years of hands-on network administration and configuration experience handling LAN/WAN devices.
