Kisii County Government Members of Audit Committee Jobs

The Kisii County Government in pursuant to section155(5)of Public Finance Management Act of 2012 and regulation no 167 (1) of Public Finance Management Regulations 2015 invites applications to fill four (4) positions of members of the Audit Committee.



Requirements for appointment Suitable candidates must possess the following qualifications:


  • A degree from a University recognized in Kenya in the following fields: i) Finance/Accounting/Auditing/Economics ii) Security/Risk Management iii) Law.
  • Master's degree in the relevant field is an added advantage
  • Not less than 5 years working experience in the public sector or private sector
  • Must be an affiliate to professional bodies e.g. ICPAK, LSK ,ICPSK, IHRM AND IIA or any other relevant body.
  • Must possess good understanding of government operations, financial reporting and auditing
  • Must be compliant with the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution on Leadership and Integrity and must obtain clearance from the following institutions:
  • Higher Education Loans Board,
  • Kenya Revenue Authority,
  • Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission,
  • Credit Reference Bureau
  • The Directorate of Criminal Investigations.
  • Shall not be past or present employees or an Agent/Director of the County Government of Kisii.
  • Must possess good knowledge of objectives, principles or functions of County Government
  • Must be knowledgeable in government affairs, have the requisite business and leadership skills and shall not be a holder of a political office.


    Role of the Audit Committee The Audit Committee shall perform the following roles among others:


  • Evaluating the quality of internal audit function, in the areas of planning, monitoring and reporting.
  • Evaluate whether processes are in place to address key roles and responsibilities in relation to risk management.
  • Providing oversight on risk management, controls and governance processes
  • Making a follow up on implementation of the recommendation of internal and external audit reports
  • Performing independent review of the financial reporting process.
  • Reviewing the effectiveness of how the entity monitors compliance with relevant legislative and regulatory requirements.
    Terms of Appointment Members of the Audit Committee shall serve on a part time basis for a period of three years and they shall be eligible for re-appointment for a further one term only.


    The allowance payable to the members of the Audit Committee shall be determined by the Salaries and Remuneration Commission guidelines.
