Job Description for the position of an Assistant Financial Accountant

KIMSAN is actively seeking an experienced assistant Financial Accountant to join our team. As an assistant Financial Accountant, you will be responsible for monitoring all financial data, preparing accurate statements, and ensuring compliance with legal regulations.

Your role will encompass budgeting, managing tax payments, performing internal audits, and providing consultancy to KIMSAN senior management team for cost and income analyses.

By precisely managing our financial records and supporting investment decisions, you will play a vital role in the organization’s success. Join us in maintaining financial transparency and driving our organization’s growth.

Responsibilities

  • Gather and monitor financial data (e.g. income and liabilities)

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual statements (balance sheets and income statements)

  • Forecast costs and revenues

  • Manage tax payments

  • Organize internal audits

  • Prepare budgets (for the entire organization and by department)

  • Monitor and report on accounting discrepancies

  • Conduct detailed risk analyses to assess potential investments

  • Analyze financial trends

  • Perform month-end and year-end close processes

    Requirements and skills;

  • Proven work experience as in Accounting or similar role

  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and accounting software

  • In-depth understanding of business bookkeeping procedures

  • Solid knowledge of accounting regulations

  • Excellent math skills with an attention to detail

  • Time-management abilities

  • Confidentiality

  • BSc degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance
    or relevant field

  • Additional certification (e.g. CPA) is a plus

    Kiswahili (Mandatory), Level – Fluent

  • Any other local language (Optional), Level - Working Knowledge

  • French (Optional), Level - Working Knowledge.

    Contract Duration and Conditions;

  • 1-year contract subjected to a 3 months probation and renewal based on competency and performance.
