Kidogo is a social enterprise that improves access to high-quality, affordable early childhood care & education in Kenya’s low-income communities. We partner with local women (“Mamapreneurs”) to start or grow their own childcare centers; through a social franchising approach.
We provide Mamapreneurs with training, mentorship and support tools so that they can give children in their care (0-4 years of age) the best start to life, while their mothers go to work for the day.
We support this work with 3 Early Childhood Centers of Excellence which demonstrate best practice in the community and serve as training facilities.

Working directly under the supervision of the Nutrition, Health and WASH Coordinator: The NHW assistant will be responsible for ensuring successful implementation and monitoring of Nutrition, Health and WASH interventions with effective integration aimed at; improving the children’s health and nutrition wellbeing at the child care centers within Kidogo network.

Job Responsibilities:Nutrition surveillance and assessment (Growth Monitoring and Promotion)
Work closely with the Community Health Volunteers to carry out growth monitoring activities smoothly across all the communities.
Work closely with the field officers
to ensure the growth monitoring data is accurately measured.
Monitor and review nutrition supplies and equipment movements such as deliveries, storage, transport and utilization at the field level.
Data entry into the GMP data base.
Training & Capacity building:
Assist with Nutrition, health and WASH training and mentorship (ToT) at the field level.
Conducting spot checks at the child care centers on hygiene and nutrition practices and give monthly report on the same.
Assist with Nutrition on the job training for the field officers in the community.
Assist with specific spokes parents’ meetings to educate parents on the impact and cost-effectiveness of good nutritional practices and feeding program at the centers.
Job Skills:
Ability to maintain the highest degree of discretion and confidentiality.
Ability to organize tasks simultaneously, prioritize work and ensure tasks are completed by deadline.
Good inter-personal and conflict resolution skills, able to work under pressure and manage personal stress.
Job Qualifications:
Diploma in Nutrition and dietetics OR Community Nutrition from recognized institution/University.
At least two years working experience preferably with an NGO in a cross cultural setting/low in-come settlement.
Previous team experience and knowledge of team dynamics desirable.
Good computer literacy (email, internet, Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint)
Must be registered by KNDI with a valid practicing license
Experience working with Hygiene and Sanitation clusters at community levels in identifying, mobilizing and sensitizing target communities for water, sanitation and hygiene promotion.
