Kiambu County Public Service Board Accountant Il Jobs in Kenya
Kiambu County Public Service Board wishes to recruit competent and qualified persons to fill the following positions in the Department of Finance ICT and Economic Planning.
This is pursuant to Article 235 of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010 and Section 63 of the County Government Act, 2012.
Duties and Responsibilities
Monitor creditor’s ledgers, and assets register to verify their accuracy;
Prepare balance sheets, profit and loss statements and other financial reports;
Prepare and verify vouchers and expenditure reports in accordance with the laid down rules and regulations;
Carry out routine accounting tasks such as balancing of cashbooks, imprest and advances ledgers;
Ensure safe custody of Government records and assets to prevent fraud and wastage of Government's assets;
Receive duly processed payments and receipt vouchers to keep under safe custody for auditing purposes;
Write cheques and posting payments and receipt vouchers as directed by the Accountant I.
Requirements for Appointment
Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Economics, Business Administration/Management or any other relevant qualification from a recognized University AND Certified Public Accountant Part I
Certified Public Accountant Part II
In addition, candidates must be:
Computer literate;
Demonstrate budgeting skills;
Demonstrate knowledge of professional standards;
One (1) year of working experience as an Accountant or its equivalent from a reputable organization;
Meet the requirements of Chapter six of the Constitution of Kenya.
