Kiambu County Government Chief Officer (10 Posts) Vacancies
The Chief Officer shall be the authorized officer in a specific department and shall be responsible to the respective County Executive Committee Member.
The ten posts will be as follows: (Applicants should specify the portfolio for which they are applying for:)

Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries
Finance and Economic Planning
Health Services
Education, Gender, Culture and Social Services
Youth, Sports, ICT and Communication
Energy, Water, Environment and Natural Resources
Lands, Housing, Physical Planning and Urban Development
Administration and Public Service
Trade, Tourism, Co-operatives and Enterprise Development
Duties and Responsibilities
• The administration of a county department;
• Formulation and implementation of effective programs to attain vision 2030 and sector goals;
• Development and implementation of strategic plans and sector development plans;
• Implementation of policies and regulations;
• Providing strategic policy direction for effective service delivery;
• Ensuring compliance with the national values and principles of good governance as outlined in Articles 10 and 232 of the Constitution of Kenya;
• Performing any other duties as may be assigned from time to time;
Requirements for Appointment
• Be a Kenyan citizen;
• Have a Bachelor’s degree from a University recognized in Kenya;
• Possession of Master’s degree in a relevant field will be an added advantage;
• Must be a member of a professional body relevant to the position applied for and in good standing;
• Have vast knowledge and experience of not less than ten years in the relevant field, five of which should be in a managerial position;
• Be conversant with the Constitution of Kenya and all the devolution laws;
• Demonstrate through understanding of county development objectives and vision 2030;
• Be a strategic thinker and result oriented;
• Have excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills;
• Have capacity to work under pressure to meet timelines;
• Have ability to work in a multi-ethnic environment with sensitivity and respect for diversity;
• Satisfies the requirement of Chapter Six of the Constitution;
• Demonstrate understanding and commitment to the values and principles as outlined in Article 10 and 232 of the Constitution of Kenya;
• Be computer literate.

Kiambu County Government Board Member - County Public Service Board (2 Posts) Jobs
Pursuant to Section 58 of
the County Government Act 2012, the Governor, County Government of Kiambu hereby invites applications from qualified, result oriented and self motivated citizens to fill two vacancies as Board Members in the
County Public Service Board.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Establish and abolish offices in the county public service;
• Appoint persons to hold or act in offices of the county public service including in the Boards of cities and urban areas within the county and to confirm appointments;
• Exercise disciplinary control over and remove, persons holding or acting in those offices as provided for under the County Government Act;
• Prepare regular reports for submission to the County Assembly on the execution of the functions of the board;
• Promote in the county public service the values and principles referred to in Articles 10 and 232 of the Constitution;
• Evaluate and report to the County Assembly on the extent to which the value and principles referred to in Articles 10 and 232 of the Constitution are complied with in the County public service;
• Facilitate the development of coherent, integrated human resource planning and budgeting for personnel emoluments in the county;
• Advise the County Government on human resource planning and budgeting for personnel emoluments in the county;
• Advise the County Government on human resource management and development;
• Advise the County Government on implementation and monitoring of the national performance management system in the county;
• Make recommendations to the Salaries and Remuneration Commission, on behalf of the County Government, on the remuneration, pensions and gratuities for county public service employees;
Requirements and Competencies
• Be a Kenyan citizen;
• Be in possession of a first degree from a University recognized in Kenya;
• Masters degree will be an added advantage;
• Have a working experience of not less than five years;
• Satisfy the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution on leadership and integrity;
• Be a professional who demonstrates absence of breach of the relevant professional code of conduct;
• Not be a public or state officer;
• Understand the diversity within the county;
• Be a visionary and strategic thinker
• Capacity to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines
• Be committed to be part of a team that will enable the County Government achieve her vision
