Kiambu County Government County Secretary (1 Post) Jobs in Kenya
The County Secretary will provide guidance and direction to the County Public Service and will
be answerable to the Governor.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Head of the County Public Service and Secretary to the County Executive Committee.
• Responsible for arranging the business and keeping the minutes of the County
Executive Committee.
• Ensure efficient management of resources
• Co-ordination of County Government Programmes.
• Interpret, disseminate and oversee implementation of National and County Government policies.
• Convey the decisions of the Executive Committee to appropriate persons or authorities.
• Provide direction and guidance to public officers in the County.
Requirements for Appointment
• Be a Kenyan citizen.
• Be in possession of a Bachelor’s degree from a University recognized in Kenya.
• Have not less than 10 years of experience in administration and management.
• Possess adequate knowledge of organization and functions of Government.
• Have thorough knowledge of the structural, legislative and regulatory framework of
the public service.
• Possession of a Masters degree from a University recognized in Kenya will be an added advantage.
• Demonstrate understanding and commitment to the National Values and Principles of Governance and Public Service.
• Be Computer literate.
• Satisfy the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.

Kiambu County Government County Executive Committee Member (10 Posts) Jobs
Pursuant to Section 35, 36, and 45 of the County Government Act 2012, the Governor, County Government of Kiambu hereby invites applications from qualified, result oriented and self motivated citizens to fill the vacancies in the following Departments as County Executive Committee Members.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Implement County legislation;
• Implement within the County, national legislation to the extent that the legislation so requires;
• Manage and co-ordinate the functions of the County administration and its department;
• Provide the County Assembly with the full and regular reports on matters relating to the County;
• May advise the Governor on matters within his/her area of jurisdiction;
Requirements for Appointment
For appointment to this position, the person should:
• Be a Kenyan citizen;
• Be in possession of a first degree from a University recognized in Kenya;
• Masters degree will be an added advantage;
• Satisfy the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution;
• Have knowledge, experience and distinguished career of not less than five years in the field relevant to the portfolio of the department to which the person is seeking to be considered;
• Understand the diversity, challenges and opportunities within the County;
• Should not hold any other State or Public Office;
• Be conversant with the Constitution of Kenya and all the devolution laws;
• Be a visionary and strategic thinker;
• Have the ability to work in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment with sensitivity and respect for diversity;
• Have capacity to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines;
• Be committed to be part of a team that will enable the County Government achieve her vision.
