Kiambu County Government Engineer (Electoral)Employment Opportunities

Responsibilities

Screen, monitor and communicate good practices in the area of energy;

Promote appropriate energy saving technologies that can contribute to sustainable
utilization of Natural Resources;

Support community initiatives that will enhance adaptation to climate change &
poverty reduction;

Prepare budgetary and expenditure information for energy usage across the
county;

Coordinate and control of division’s energy activities including but not limited to
street lighting and high masts lights;

Promote energy conservation in the county;

Carry out regular energy audits and surveys on county buildings;

Support the Director of Energy in the delivery and monitoring and post
project evaluation of Energy Conservation Projects;

Increase energy awareness across the county through training and other initiatives;

Implement and evaluate department’s programme.

Qualifications

Higher National Diploma / Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or
equivalent from a recognized institution;

Registerable with Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK) and ERC;

2 years relevant experience in a reputable organization.

Kiambu County Government Director- Urban Development & Management Employment Opportunities

Responsibilities

Responsible to the Chief Officer of Lands, Housing, Physical Planning and Urban

Development and Management on all matters related to Urban Development, urban
policy formulation and implementation;

Responsible for advising urban stakeholders on all matters related to urban development
and servicers, investment partnerships and development control;

Responsible for advising the County Executive Committee member on operationalisation
and coordination of the Urban Areas and Cities Act;

Coordinate and oversee the urban public space design and management;

Any other duty as may be assigned from time to time;

Qualifications

Be a Kenyan citizen;

Possess a Degree in Urban Planning and/or Urban management/Urban
Development/Architecture;

A Masters will be an added advantage;

Must be a corporate member in good standing of a recognized professional society
(Kenya Institute of Planners (KIP) , Town and County Planners Association of Kenya
(TCPAK) or Architectural Association of Kenya (Town Planners Chapter) AAK(TP);

Ten (10) years working experience in an institution either in public or private sector

Have demonstrated professional competence and administrative ability in the line of
duty;

Kiambu County Government County Chief Physical Planning Officer Employment Opportunities

Responsibilities

Responsible to the Deputy Director for all matters related to urban planning control,
monitoring and enforcement;

Responsible for advising stakeholders on all matters related to urban planning and
development control;

Conduct approval of development applications on delegated powers of the Director;

Any other duty as from time to time may be assigned.

Qualifications

Be a Kenyan citizen;

Possess a Bachelor Degree in Urban Planning and/or Urban management/Urban Development;

Eligible for registration by the Physical Planners Registration Board;

Must have worked as a planner for a minimum of 5 years;

Have demonstrated professional competence and administrative ability in the line of duty;

Meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya; and Public officer
Ethics Act 2003.
