Job Description and Job Specification:

a) Duties and Responsibilities

This is the highest level in the grading structure of Dental Technologists cadre. Work at this level involves;

Management of dentistry supportive services at a Sub County or County hospital.

Participation in planning and organizing dentistry supportive services.

Officer at this level may be head of the Department of Dental Technology in the College of Health Professions where he will be responsible for planning curriculum development, Implementation and evaluation of training programmes.

b) Requirements for Appointments;

For Appointment to the grade of Chief Dental Technologist an officer must;

Have completed at least three (3) years in the grade of Deputy Chief Technologist; and

Have demonstrated outstanding administrative capabilities, wide experience and technical competence in the organization and management of dentistry supportive services at a national or provincial hospital or in training as head of the Department of Dental Technology in a College of Health Professions.
