Job DescriptionBackground of the companyKerchanshe Trading P.L.C is the largest producer and exporter of coffee in Ethiopia, It has a proud history of providing quality coffees to the local and international markets. Currently our company needs a dedicated and motivated candidate.
Reporting to: Manager, Import & Transit
Purpose of the JobUnder the overall guidance of the Manager, the Senior Assessor processes all issues from end to end in preparing customs declaration for import and export shipments to meet the objectives of the company. The incumbent plays the required coordination role among team members to give solution for all process requirements, promote efficient business process and to build knowledge, team spirit and knowledge sharing.
Job ActivitiesPlanning, organizing and reporting of customs clearance operations
Check and validate the documents for customs procedure.
Verify fulfillment of documents for customs procedure process and notify the concerned section if documents are missed.
Register and make tax assessment on customs system
Notify duty and tax and do a follow-up for the payment in due time,
Fill and submit VDD online.
Follow up of customs rule regulation and update the company accordingly
Follow up and report any information at customs that may affect the co.’s interest
Reply to any Customs inquiry and resolve the issue exhaustively.
Check and verify declaration works done by other staff.
Provide support to staffs and client whenever required.
N.B the job holder performs other duties as deemed necessary.
Job Requirements
Qualification:
BA or MA degree in Logistics/Supply Management or business related field, with proven
practical experience of 4 years for B.A degree and 2 years for M.A degree.
Key Competencies
Certificate training from ERCA.
Practical experience on Import and export custom assessment.
Clean record from ERCA.
Excellent understanding of int’l trade, logistic operation and governing rules of the country;
Excellent understanding of work flow processes
Ability to consistently approach work with energy and a positive and constructive attitude;
Self-starter and ability to manage work (perform) without supervision;
Ability to remain calm and in control under pressure;
Ability to meet short deadlines;
Sound contributions to knowledge sharing networks and communication of best practices;
Strong personal commitment to learning the particular skills that her/his job requires
Basic computer skill, email and other social platform usage
Demonstrates commitments to the Kerchanshe mission, vision and values;
