Kenyatta University Primary School Head Teacher Jobs in Kenya

The Head Teacher is the lead educator and the accounting officer in the school. He/she is responsible for the provision of leadership in implementation of the curriculum, educational policies and programs. He/she also leads in the development and implementation of the school’s strategy, work plans, budgets, and supervises the operations of the school.

Requirements for Appointment

To qualify for appointment to the Position of Head Teacher, a teacher must: -

Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) minimum mean Grade C (Plain) or equivalent qualification

Primary Teacher Education Certificate (PTE) or its approved equivalent.

Possession of a Bachelor of Education degree in or its equivalent;

Have minimum teaching experience of five (5) years, three (3) of which s/he should have served at least as a Deputy Head Teacher in a fully-fledged primary school

Must be registered with Teachers Service Commission (TSC) and have a valid teaching certificate have satisfactory rating in the performance appraisal process;

Must be conversant with the current trends in education and curriculum design.

Demonstrate ability to use ICT within the CBC framework

Have demonstrated ability to supervise, mentor and provide professional support to other teachers;

Having undertaken the relevant TPD modules will be an added advantage

Meet the requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution
