Kenyatta National Hospital Senior Hospital Planner I Career Opportunities

Job Group K5 (1 Post)

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Providing professional advice to the Hospital Management on all matters related to planning.
  • Developing project proposals for funding.
  • Preparing Hospital monthly/annual reports and expenditure estimates and ensuring proper utilization of funds allocated to the Department.
  • Coordinating quality assurance activities in the Department.
  • Identifying and prioritizing policy issues within the Hospital.
  • Providing analysis, forecasts and trends on economic matters.
  • Assessing and reviewing the viability f key health sector indicators

    Qualifications and Experience

  • Masters Degree in Economics/Statistics, Health Economics/Strategic Management from a recognized university.
  • Proven experience of not less three (3) years at the level of Senior Economist II/Senior Statistician II/Senior Hospital Planner II or equivalent position in a large organization.
  • A proficient working knowledge of MS office and other software e.g. SPSS, STATA.
  • Proven experience in Performance Management Reporting (Performance Contracting)
  • Experience in Working knowledge of the Balanced Scorecard, policy planning and analysis will be an added advantage.

    Duties and Responsibilities

  • Consulting with prescribers and other staff to clarify medication orders.
  • Controlling medication by monitoring drug therapies and advising interventions.
  • Completing pharmacy operational requirements by organising and directing technologists workflow, verifying their preparation and labelling of pharmaceuticals, verifying order entries, charges and inspections.
  • Providing pharmacological information by answering questions and requests of health care professionals and counselling patients on drug therapies.
  • Complying with drug laws as regulated by Pharmacy and Poisons Board of Kenya.
  • Protecting patients and support staff by adhering to infection control protocols.
  • Contributing to team effort by accomplishing related results as required.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives.

    Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy.
  • Must be registered with the Pharmacy and Poisons Board of Kenya.
  • Certificate in computer operations from a recognized institution.
  • At least two years work experience as a Pharmacist.

    Duties and Responsibilities

  • Estimating costs of repairs.
  • Monitoring and supervision of work in progress on site.
  • Participating in the preparation of monthly progress returns on expenditure.
  • Ensuring that proper specifications and standards are maintained.
  • Supervising any repairs, maintenance and/or alterations being carried out on existing buildings.
  • Auditing of quantities of materials required for the job.
  • Effective supervision, training and development of staff.

    Qualifications and Experience

  • Higher Diploma in Building and Civil Engineering from Kenya National Examinations Council or other approved equivalent qualification.
  • Proven experience of at least three years at the level of Superintendent I (Buildings) or its equivalent in a large organization.
  • Training in Project/Contract Management.
  • Registered with relevant professional body.
  • Certificate in computer operations from a recognized institution.
