A centre of excellence in legal training, research and consultancies
REF: KSL/HR06/2022 1 POSITION
Reporting to the Assistant Director, Continuing Professional Development, the incumbent will be responsible for training focus groups or professionals, carrying out legal consultancy and research on emerging legal issues.
The Specific Duties and Responsibilities of The Officer Will Entail: –
Identifying the training and development needs of focus groups or professionals to be trained.
Designing the training calendar in consultation with the Assistant Director;
Developing and designing training resources and materials; this would include training notes and presentations, training materials and methodologies, e-learning materials, DVDs and videos to meet client’s needs;
Disseminating, advertising and promoting the training programmes;
Assisting in sourcing for consultancies and funding for training programs;
Coordinating with the other Task Groups to organize training sessions as part of a larger event or conference.
Training of paralegals and non-lawyer professionals in integrated legal issues to enhance effectiveness in the performance of their roles;
Assisting in developing and carrying out sensitization on emerging legal issues to create awareness;
Assisting in carrying out legal consultancy;
Assisting in carrying out research on emerging legal issues.
Job Requirements
To qualify for this position, the applicant must have: –
At least four years’ post admission relevant work experience in public or private sector;
Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LL. B)
from a recognized university;
Postgraduate Diploma in Law;
An advocate of the High Court of Kenya with current practicing certificate;
Member of the Law Society of Kenya in good standing;
Proficiency in Computer Applications; and
Meet requirements of Chapter 6 of the Constitution.
