Job Description/ Requirements

Kenya Reinsurance Corporation Limited (Kenya Re), is a leading reinsurer and is listed at the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE).

by the Global Credit Rating Company (GCR).

Kenya Re now seeks to recruit and fill the following positions for its Head Office in Nairobi, Kenya:-

Supply Chain Officer - KRC/HR/2022/05

Reports to: Manager, Supply Chain

Job Purpose

This position is responsible for procurement of goods, works and services for the organization as per public procurement ACT 2015 and Regulation 2020 as well as the Corporation’s policy and procedures.

Primary Responsibilities

The main duties and responsibilities will include but not be limited to;

Preparing and requesting for tenders/quotations/proposals from suppliers;

Working with user departments on their terms of reference/specifications;

Carrying out designated checks on quality and security aspects of procurement;

Ensure equitable and fair distribution of requests for proposals to all prequalified suppliers;

Taking part in the opening and onward processing of the quotations;

Providing technical and secretariat services during evaluations;

Producing of Local Purchase Orders (LPO);

Liaising with suppliers on the progress in the delivery
of

goods/services/works;

Preparation of statutory reports to PPRA;

Market Surveys;

Contract management.

The Person

Academic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in any business-related field, procurement and logistics will be an added advantage.

Professional Qualifications / Membership to Professional Bodies

Must be a member of Kenya Institute of Supplies and Management (MKISM).

Membership to Member of Chartered Institute of Purchasing Supplies (MCIPS) will be an added
advantage.

Work Experience

4 years’ experience with at least four with a Public Institution or any other established institution.

Skills and Core Competence

I.T proficiency;

Public procurement guidelines and procedures;

Relationship management;

Interpersonal skills;

Leadership skills;

Communication skills.
