DescriptionOur client is a well established petroleum company in the Kenyan market. They wish to recruit a General Manager to lead their vibrant team in realizing the Company's Mission and Vision.
Key Responsibilities:
Shall be responsible for managing and coordinating all company activities leading the divisional heads of different product groups and dealing with existing clients and developing new clients.
With the support of executive management he/she will be responsible for managing all areas of operations to ensure revenues, profits and return on investment are maximized; risk is managed and costs controlled, consistent with the budget and business plans.
Ensure a positive cash-flow in order to meet financial requirements, evaluating and reporting operational, sales and financial performance to the Executive Management team.
Shall be responsible for ensuring that operational, sales and marketing objectives set out by the Executive Management team are achieved.
Conceptualize, develop and implement strategies and marketing plans outside the current scope of products, services and geographical markets.
Responsible for implementation and proper compliance to procedures and systems established by the Executive Management team.
Lead and foster a conducive corporate culture that promotes strong ethical practices, good governance and employee satisfaction.
Person Profile:
Academic Qualifications:
Masters degree in related field.
Professional qualifications shall be an added advantage.
Experience:
At least 10 years’ experience with at least 4 years at senior management level overseeing multidisciplinary functions in a busy commercial environment.
Experience in
the petroleum and gas industry will be a great advantage.
Prior experience in managing a functional level in an established organization / busy environment.
Proven track record in managing projects.
Significant experience in oil sector or commodity markets.
Well-grounded understanding of corporate governance.
Proven track record of development and implementation of turnaround strategies.

Proven ability to think strategically and design long term plans;
Ability to drive and manage change;
Excellent interpersonal, management and communication skills; and
Excellent organizational, analytical and coordination skills
