Reporting to the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, this role will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies necessary in achieving sustainable management of public lighting in all counties in liaison with National Government and county governments towards a 24 hour economy.

Key Responsibilities

Design Street Lighting strategies for providing quality and reliable power;

Develop and enforce standards for efficient Street Lighting operations;

Enforce environmental and safety standards on Street Lighting network and power equipment maintenance in liaison with other stakeholders;

Identify weaknesses in the Street Lighting network and designing system upgrade projects;

Develop capacity for design, installation and maintenance of Public Lighting;

Develop Street Lighting maintenance schedules, new infrastructure installations and ensuring adherence;

Formulate strategies for timely resolution of customer complaints;

Implement and align the divisional strategic objectives with the Corporate Strategic Objectives and Plans; and

Ensure utilization of Information Communication Technology systems in management of Street Lighting network operations and dealing with customer complaints.

Requirements

We are looking for a candidate with a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized university with not less than 12 years relevant work experience with 5 years in senior management; be a registered professional engineer with Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK) with a valid practicing certificate and be of good standing.

A master’s degree in a relevant field and a Certification in Corporate Governance and /or Leadership from a recognised institution will be an added advantage.

Candidates will be required to satisfy the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya 2010 including: Certificate of Good Conduct from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations; Clearance Certificate from the Higher Education Loans Board; Tax Compliance Certificate from the Kenya Revenue Authority; Clearance from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission; and Report from an Approved Credit Reference Bureau.
