Duties and Responsibilities

  • Carrying out moisture test analysis for issuance of parchment delivery booking for milling;

  • Conducting random sampling on delivered consignment to determine moisture content and advice on appropriate measures;

  • Carrying out quality checks on the milling process;

  • Preparing coffee lab equipment to conduct pre-milling analysis;

  • Preparing and setting of cupping apparatus; and

  • Roasting coffee samples for cupping.

    Requirements

  • Diploma in any of the following disciplines: - Coffee Technology and Quality Management, Food Science and Processing Technology or equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution.

  • Proficiency in Computer applications; and

  • Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.

  • Applicants certified by Coffee Directorate as coffee quality expert (liquor) and possess a valid Q grader certificate from Coffee Quality Institute (CQI) or recognized institution will have an added advantage
