Kenya Planters Co-operative Union Principal Maintenance Officer Jobs

Duties and Responsibilities

Approving and ensuring the planned schedule for inspection and maintenance of the milling machines and equipment is carried out;

Coordinating monthly routine inspection on the milling machines and equipment;

Reviewing and approving inspection report describing the results and making recommendations;

Reviewing and verifying Implementation of maintenance inspection report recommendations;

Developing milling plant maintenance procedures;

Ensuring scheduled machines and equipment maintenance is carried out;

Ensuring emergency maintenance of machines and equipment is carried out;

Recommending required engineering works for milling plant improvement;

Ensuring installations, upgrades and alternations on milling plant;

Overseeing the overhauling of malfunctional or nonfunctional parts of milling plant; and

Recommending and approving the identified production scrap, equipment, materials and supplies for disposition reclamation and disposal.

Requirements

A minimum period of eight (8) years relevant work experience, at least three (3) years of which must have been in a supervisory role;

Bachelors degree in any of the following disciplines: - Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;

Masters degree in any of the following disciplines: - Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;

Registered with Engineers Board of Kenya or Kenya Engineering Technology Registration Board;

Members of the Institute of Engineers Kenya where applicable;

Certificate in Supervisory Skills lasting not less than two (2) weeks from a recognized institution;

Certificate in a Management Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution;

Proficiency in Computer applications;

Demonstrated merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results; and

Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.
